Trained to teach high school English and History.
What made you choose your current discipline?
It chose me :-)
What qualities do you look for when choosing a new horse?
- Conformation
- Mechanics ie: the way it uses its body
- Work Ethic/Trainability
What is your favourite training exercise?
Transitions are perfect training opportunities and leg yielding.
What gets you out of bed every morning?
Horses to feed and train and the joy of facing a new day.
How do you deal with the lows of the sport?
Accept what you can’t change and remember its how you get back up that counts.
Your most embarrassing career moment?
2002 Australian Dressage Champs – at the entry halt, my horse spread itself for a monumental pee!
What would your advice be to an aspiring professional?
Find a coach who will help you set and achieve your goals, and practise till it can’t go wrong.
